Can NT Backup See a TAPE unit connected to another Server

We are currently backing up just Data from one server<br>
the PDC which does not have the tape unit attached to it has Exchange Server 5.5 on it.<br>
My goal is to backup Exchange on the Tape.<br>
Any Ideas as to the best way.<br>
Or is it better to connect the Tape to the PDC which has exchange.<br>
