About 6 months ago we bought a HP 750 printer/scanner/copier all-in-one. Using win 98 and the drivers that came with the printer, everything worked fine. The computer was able to send and recieve info from the printer. (for the 750, Hp has this little program that sits in the sys tray and tells you teh status.)
Since then, we have installed 2000 on the machine. Now the computer is unable to talk to the printer. The printer is detected fine (USB), and we've installed the latest drivers from HP (excluding the HP drivers-on-hp-cd for $10).
The little program which sits in the system tray says "HP PSC DISCONNECTED!!". Using photoshop or similiar, twain trys to connect and says "scanner not found".
We can open up HP's 'direct' software and push the scan button. We then get the 'Unable to connect to scanner' error.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers, installing the latest USB patch, etc.
Anyone have any ideas? I did find one small location where USB double buffering was mentioned.
Any soulutions? I'll post a reply if I fix it.
Thanx,
-Suthern
