Can not rename the volume label.

Any clues as to why "administrator" cannot change the volume label of the C:drive? I can create shares with any name and I can change the D:drive's name at will. Attempting to change the C:drive name results in an "Invalid Volume Label" message with the "you do not have sufficient rights" remark.
