Can not remove a user

I have AIX 5.3.4. I can not remove a user by using smit or the command line. The system is in an executing state but never returns an o.k. (in smit) or returns to the command line.
 
I advice you to look for the user in /etc/passwd and /etc/security/password files for inconsistencies!

The consistency of the /etc/passwd file can be checked using the pwdck command. The pwdck command verifies the correctness of the password information in the user database files by checking the definitions for all of the users or for specified users.
