I am not sure, but I think this may be related to some TCP/IP setting.

I installed Windows 2000 on my PC, but I can not put it to the domain. This is the error message I got.....

It says "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"

but the domain exist, and the network drop is alive.

If you use WINS to resolve NetBIOS names, make sure that the IP address of the WINS server are properly configured on the Windows 2000 computer, and that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled. What OS is the domain controller? Route once; switch many
