can not ping inside interface of pix from vpn client

Hi,

I have pix version 6.1 running on corporate network and vpn client version 3.1 at remote network.

I can connect to the pix from the vpn client, I can also ping outside interface ip address of the pix, however I can not ping inside interface ip address from the vpn client.

any suggestions?

As far as I'm aware (and I asked a PIX instructor this last week on a course) you shouldn't be able to. By its nature you can't ping the interface facing away from you. So, from the inside network you can ping the inside interface but not the outside interface. When you come in via a VPN to the PIX from the outside, the outside is facing you but the inside is facing away from you and so you shouldn't be able to ping it!
