can not open gettty10 no such file or directory

I am getting following error continuously on server Sco openserver 5.05
/etc/getty10 "can not open gettty10 no such file or directory"
i am unable to telnet from windows clients,saying all ports in use.
server is not responding to ping .

how many users are on the system ?
you probably ran out of pseudo ttys , check how many you have , i think command is mkdev tty / look view scoadmin
option. Aslo check var/adm/messages for any errors

Is that a typo in the error message? Is it saying "getty10" or "gettty10"?

If it is the latter, your /etc/inittab file might be referencing /etc/gettty10 somewhere where it should be /etc/getty10.
