Using Ver 8.5 for several years now. I create reports, complile them then copy the exe, crf and rpt files to our network drive. Those users (who have the crystal viewer installed on their machine) dbl click on the exe and the reports run. Clean, easy, usually no problems. However occasionally we run into a problem where the user gets the message "can not open crf file". When I test the exe on my machine in my directory it works fine. When I copy it to the network directory it doesn't work. I have tried recompiling the report and moving the files again, but it still won't work. Does anyone know what causes that error and how to correct it.

Per Crystal Decision for Crystal Report v.7:
"Set the attributes for the .crf file to READ ONLY"

so it may apply to CR 8.5? try.
