can not get rif of lasso tool

Hi,

I use lasso tool. I draw around the picece of the pic that I want to cut. what do I need to do before I
press 'ctrl + j'. Foe some reason I can not get rid of lasso tool. all the menus get disabled.

You have to return to the origin point of your selection to close the line. The cursor will change to show a small circle to indicate that you are hovering over the origin of your selection line. Click the mouse.

Check which lasso tool that you are using (there may be three) and also make sure that the tool options are set to the default preferences.

it 'might' be that you need to finish with a double-click to close it off - if you have it set to the straight-line option (i.e. not the freehand one)
