Can not get dhcp ip from router

i have a linksys router & 3 dell laptops 2 run winxp home and 1 runs winxp pro. the one that runs winxp pro is an older one and i have tried two different wireless pc cards in it. they did the same thing. they seen the network fine but cannot get an ip address from the router. i tried to repair, it don't work. my other laptops have wireless connection and receive an ip address.

laptops with xp home: dell inspron 8500
1 with a new linsys wpc54g works fine
1 with dell truemobile 1300 mini pci card works fine.

laptop with xp pro: dell latitude cpir w/ dell truemobile 1150 pc card.

router: Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster

You did not happen to uninstall Norton Antivirus, did you? See:

Make sure that the DHCP Client service is started and running: Start, Run, services.msc, scroll down and make sure it is working.
