I need to restart out Netware 6 Server. I closed ARCserve Manaully by typing ASTOP, this started closing down fine as always then the last module unloaded was BOARDSVR.NLM.

It now has ARCserve: Please Wait.....

and there is now no command prompt. I therefore can not issue the command Down or Restart Server. How therefore can I shut this server down? If there is no way round can I safely power off, if no one is connected? This Server has been running fine since New and uptodate with SP2. In all my years of using Netware I have never seen this problem and have always been able to get to a Command Propmt.

When in doubt, go to debug....
SHIFT-SHIFT-ALT-ESC

Type Q to return to DOS

Thanks for the input. I will try your solutions later today when all is quiet.

Use debugger as your last resort. You can either use the commands Ctrl + Alt + Esc to get a down prompt or download Fconsole from Novell's support site. Fconsole is run from a PC and will allow you to down any NetWare version.
