Can not double click and open MS Word files form Network

Hi all,
I have MS word 2000 files on the Server. When a user double clicks on the files, MS word open up and gives and error stating the path is incorrect. When I click “ok” to the error message and double click on the file for the second time it works fine. I can open MS word files without any problems by opening word first and then open those network files through MS Word.

The users have NT mandatory profiles.

I am having exactly the same problem with all office files. Cannot find fix anywhere. If I find the answer I will let you know asap, if you have already found answer could you let me know.... cheers
