Help

I had a hard drive failure on a client Win98 machine, no problem - I replaced the drive, and re-installed the O/S.

I then restored the users data files from Backup Exec to a temporary folder on the NT server.

The problem I have now is that I can not copy the files to the client machine!, everytime I attempt this I get "Access Denied - check that the files are not in use"

I have tried stopping BEX services and re-booted the server, but I am still locked out, has anyone had this before - is it something to do with "ownership", any help would be gratefully received!

Regards

Graham

Sounds like an NTFS security issue. You should check the user permissions on the files and make sure you're allowed to access them.

I had exactly the same problem about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and I thought it was a permissions problem, but it wasn't.
I left it and tried the next day and it worked. Not sure what changed, but it was OK the next day. *shrug*
