I'm new here, please help!
I have a LAN setup, with NT 4.0 Server, workstations Win98, we connect to the internet via ISDN, the computer assignes an IP address when there connect, I assume we are using dynamic IP, we I got 8 new PC's, I configured 5 of them without a problem, I didn't had to enter an IP address or anything.
The last 3 computers I get an error message, "No domain server available to validate your password, you may not be able to ....", I uninstalled and re-installed TCP/IP, the network card, put in a new one etc. I checked licenses, we have enough.
Could it have anything to do with dynamic IP addresses, and how would I know, if I don't have enough, or where on the server(?) can I increase it. Or anyother ideas. I'm clueless, you are my last hope!!! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

You should still be able to see the server whether or not you have been assigned an IP address. Right click on the network neighborhood icon and go to properties. Check the properties on the Client for Microsoft networks and compare them to the computers that do work. Also, double click on the network neighborhood icon, double click on entire network...can you see the server? Can you see yourself? If you can see yourself then chances are the system is fine...it might be a cable problem....let me know how things turn out.
