I am using BO XI and I have a user that has been added to AD but I still cannot add as a user in BO Enterprise. I am not sure how to find out how to check what server it is trying to verify against. I am not the AD person but they are wanting to tell what the server so they can see if there is server not updating with AD.

Have you completed the Windows AD portion in the CMC Authentication

It takes a little planning up front to determine how you will use BO Enterprise in your business. In our case, I created a folder for each business unit (Inspection, Parks, Finance, Court, Fire, Police, etc) within the City Government.

In our particular case, we have both internal (city) and external (county) users.

External users log directly into BO Enterprise using the Enterprise authentication. These users do not have a Windows AD account so I create their own usernames and passwords.

Internal users use Windows AD authentication when they log in using their Windows XP username and password. To accomplish this, I had several Crystal Group names created in Windows AD and assigned each user to a group(s). Since I have several hundred users, this allows me to restrict user access to certain BO Enterprise folders based on the groups that the individual was been assigned.

I then linked the the Windows AD to BO Enterprise using the CMC Authentication -> Windows AD screen and specified each Windows AD Crystal group I want and clicked update.

Well, I have other users that I have added and they work well. I am not sure how to see what AD server the BO autheticates against. I have the CMC set up and it works OK but there are one or two users that it doesn't not allow me to add as users. I had our AD person look and verify that they are there in that BO group and thye are.

Hi,
Do you get an error message or is it that they just do not show up after refreshing/updating their AD group using the CMC?

Not sure how long it takes AD to update BO but our case, it took a day or two. To bypass this, I go to CMC Authentication -> Windows AD and highlight the group in the Mapped AD Member Group and click Add, then scroll to the bottom and click Update.

You can then verify the user by going to CMC -> Users and search for the username
