can not access public url...

i am deploying a php application in an apache server. now my application will try to access an image in another server. but i can't access it. when i tried to access an image on the same server using a public url, same thing happened. but when i access it using the ip address, i can see the image.

how is this possible? what else should i configure?

sorry but the post was incorrect...

i can access files deployed on my server... but i cant access any deployed on a different one. urls are of the form something like this...

please help... i am a newbie on this...

To cut down on bandwidth, many sites prevent graphics from being downloaded or linked to. To check you can browse to a site where the graphic is and try to right click on it. If a message comes up saying that you're not allowed to do that, then you can bet you're not allowed to link to it either. Websites have a special nack for telling if they are being visited by a spider, browser or another server. If this is not the case and you are simply trying to access publicly available graphics. then your url may be getting munged some how. Look at your error logs. It will show you why it couldn't fulfill the request along with the url. This will tip you off to what is happening. Sometimes the script will append the url to a base part of an address. For example the address in the error might look like At any rate, your error logs can give you a wealth of information on what is going on.
