Hi Everybody,

I am studying up on XHTML and have found various bits of information on the net about it. I am really familiar with html 4 however it has already become obvious to me that I need a thorough understanding of xml in order to do what I want to do.

As I am developing xhtml documents using the strict dtd.

According to some of the information that I have read about the strict dtd, no mark-up tags at all are allowed! Is this accurate?

If this is the case and no markup tags are allowed am I still allowed to use the form elements as they exist in html?

Any help with this will be really appreciated.

Thanks

David

You can still use all form elements in XHTML. XHTML Strict still allows you to use standard HTML tags with no problems... You just need to be slightly more disciplined with the structure of your code.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Check the XHTML 1.0 Strict DocType to carefully review all the elements and attributes that are allowed. I don't know any of the form elements that have been discontinued with XHTML.
