CAn MWIs be set from phone to phoneon 2 PBX connected via T1?

If we have 2 CS1000s with SW version 5.00 on them, connected via a T1, can one phone set the MWI on a phone on the far end. Lets say they are both set up with ARS.

Make that 2 NEC 2400 IPXs, not CS1000s.

If the connection is CCIS then yes, if it is just a voice t-1 with out a data channel then no.

We want to use Qsig to send the MWIs, any info on the programming commands that would allow this to work?
