Does anyone know if HP Openview IT/Operations, OVO/ITO, can monitor an OpenVMS environment? I can't find anything about OpenVMS in the documentation for ITO, only DEC Digital Unix is mentioned, but nothing about VMS. If not, any suggestions on what could be used to monitor this environment?

thanks in advance for your help.

We currently monitor over 50 VMS servers via HP OpenView ITO.

You will need to install the RoboEDA software on the VMS nodes and configure it to forward any messages to the ITO server. Will also need to add the IP address of the ITO server to the VMS machine using UCX.

Also need to add the hostname / IP address of the VMS machines to the host file/seedfile on the ITO server and discover them and add them to the node bank.

The RoboEDA software on the VMS machines will then forward any errors from the system to the ITO browser..

Hope this helps a little.....:)

I asked this question just this morning at work and was told -- yes, but the agents cost a lot more money than most... We're probably going to end up writing our own. Mike
