can i use my externel parallele HD with linux ?

I have a parallele IDE driver (i can plug HD or CDROM in it) i used it for windows.
But i am wondring if linux can use an externel ATAPI driver from parallele port ?

(in the floppy driver of the externel driver, i can read combobox aokid)
Any help (tips links,....) is welcom ;-)
