I am upgrading very soon from CF5 to CF9. Why so long to upgrade? Government agency, never any money, bla, bla, bla…

One of my big concerns is if I’ll be able to install and use the custom tag <CF_HTML2PDF3>. I manage a huge intranet site and have hundreds of reports that will have to be rewritten to take advantage of <cfdocument>. I’m excited to get started but it will take some time for sure.

Will I be able to install this legacy tag on my new system and keep operating while I develop replacements for all my printed output?

Also I’d welcome any sage advice anyone might have about upgrading a large existing application to CF9.

Thanks in advance

Lyndon

This is solved. Yes html2pdf3 works with CF9

The class worked fine. I followed the same steps as in the instructions for CF 5 except the following problem.

It seems the html2pdf3 product is hard coded to look for the old macromedia coldfusion folder "c:\cfusion".

After regestering the class I had to create c:\cfusion on my server and copy htmldoc.exe (included in the product download zip file) into it and everything works fine.

Now I can move to my new server and replace the hundreds of dynamic pdf documents over time using the CF9 <cfdocument> tags.
