I already have an existing cable modem. Can I use a ubr924 behind the cable modem for firewall and routing purposes only?? The UBR924 is a 4 port router with a coax input, my current provider has given me a Terayon modem which I cannot change.

This is how I would like it to work.

ISP ----> Terayon ---10BT--> P1-UBR924-P2 ---->Switch

Will this work for me?

No... The ethernet ports are not routed. You would need to use the cable interface for this to work.
