can i use arrow keys to move between elements on a page

hello,

i have various image buttons on a page and i want to navigate through them using arrow keys( right arrow key to move to button on right and left arrow key to move to a button on left...).

i am able to capture all the alphabet keys but the problem is that,the arrow keys just perform the page scroll and are not captured.

please help...

That's what they are supposed to do. To move through elements of a page, use a Tab key. That's what every user will expect. Changing expected behavior is a "bad thing".
