I have a pharmacy and software vendor will not support DSL router on the pharmacy lan. we have 4 terminals. Can I put another ethernet card in the pcs and use a DSL router using the second ethernet card in each machine. Will this allow me to bypass or "stay away" from the vendors lan set up and allow each pc access to the internet. The vendor is using hubs not switches.
Thanks Gary

You can get this to work buth there is a lot of but's.

If you have any support contract with your vendor regarding your PC's or LAN and you req. the vendor and you have any kind of Service Level Agreement you could get a lot of problems.
Also if someone/something from the internet infects your PC and they are used to get into the vendors network you could have a problem.

You need to tell a little bit more about your network setup to your vendor and a little bit more about what kind of setup you are thinking about.

Thanks for your help. I have thought about the virus problem and you are right it may not be worth the hastles with vendor support for crashes. Also I tried something this weekend and it seem to be an out. I set up an old pentium 2 machine under the counter next to the Pharmacy cpu. I had an IOGEAR KVM so I just routed the internet to the old pentium 2 and just switch between the two! Actually works really well. Its stable and fast and pretty transparent. May just have internet at one 2 terminals. one in pharmacy and one in office.
Thanks again
Gary
