Can I upgrade my G3 Blue & White video card for 3d performance?

Hi gang,

Does anyone know if I can upgrade my G3 Blue & White video card for better 3d rendering performance, so that I can play cool games? I read that the G3 B/W uses a PCI slot at 66MHZ for its native ATI Rage 128 16MB video Card. I would like to know if I could replace it with a card that has even better performance, maybee more memory ect.

is the newest card for PCI based Macs

is an older card that may still be an improvement from where you are

You'll have to realize the limits of the machine. I have a B&W 350. It was a great graphics machine for 9, but it's not to great for OSX. I keep it as a desktop backup to a G4. It will get the job done if necessary, but much slower than the G4

Any games, or anything else you buy. are going to be geared for OSX on a G4 or G5. While a new video card, and as much RAM as possible, will speed things up, the machine will still be heavily constrained by its processor, the processor speed, and the bus speed. You might find yourself very disappointed.
