We have a customer with a small inn, basic phones in each room. They want to signal the front desk when the rooms are clean. I was thinking they could dial *08 to set DND in the room when clean. This would lamp the DSS button solid on the DBM32. At the front desk, they want to clear the light. (In my example, turn off DND for that specific extension.

It's 9.1 with VM PRO.

Not sure if there is a shortcode to do this or if I can do it in VM PRO. I had trouble getting it to work in one post I found with VM PRO.

Any help on this or any way to use a DSS ext. light as a toggle that can be turned off from the front desk would be great.

Thanks

Having one button would be a bit of a pain for each room (unless you really want to go that route).
In VMPRO you could have a menu with a prompt for a room number/extension, that then does a generic free format command like CFG:SET "$KEY" do_not_disturb 1 (1 for on 0 for off).

You wouldn't be able to tie a button to DND function, but you could use a USER button to see it's status, and then use the above vmpro module to clear it.

Or use fake groups. **01,**02 etc to set a huntgroup in to night service.
Visible on the dbm32 and while to turn the light off.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Program each button as a normal DSS User button.
Eneable VM on all phones which you have a button for.
Lock the VM to on with user restrictions.
In VM Pro create a call flow in the default "Leave" start point:
Start > Check DDI > If NOT Receptionist > Leave mail or play a message "This number is currently not availale" or what ever.
If Receptionist check phone Status > If DND on > turn off
If DND off > leave mail

If a phone is on DND and someone calls the phone they will endup in the VM Box unless it is the receptionist, then the DND will be set off.

Either investigate a propper Hotel/motel ad on for IP office (Tiger is one that I have seen in use) Or simply use soft console @ reception

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
