Can I test SQL commands without a server?

When I was working for my old company, I used to write some simple SQL statement and run it with an Informix Server they have.

Now I am no longer working for that company. I would like to enhance my skills working with SQL statements, but I don't have the Informix server.

Does it mean there is no ways? I don't want to go to a school where they are equipped with Informix. Is there some ways at all?

Sounds very stupid for me to think about it. But just in case, have I missed anything?

You can teach yourself some basic SQL with MS Access. You can also download any number of free databases that use standard/compliant sql. I think IBM also allows you to download a Windows/Linux version of Informix:
