Can I set up a Hunt group that rolls into a VM box after AA answers?

Hello All,

I have a ACS R6 with Partner Messaging 1.0 6 port. The company has all lines answered by the auto attendent. They want a caller to press 6 to ring a group of phones (Tech Support Group) If no one answers in the group they want the call to go into a single voicemail box. Is this possible with the ACS... The first part (auto attendent pick up and trans is easy. How do you set up a calling group that if the call is not answered goes into a vm box?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that only the R7 of the Partner Messaging will allow 1 mailbox to be shared by multiple extensions.

Just put your tech support extensions into one of your calling groups (71-74, I usually reserve 71 for all call, so I would use 72).

Make selector code 6 transfer to ext. 72

This is important - the installation manual says to program the "Transfer Return Extension" of each of the voice mail ports to go to Ext. 10. So if a call is transferred to an extension that doesn't have a voice mail coverage, it will end up at ext. 10 instead of the voice mail. Instead, leave each of the voice mail's transfer return extension setting to them selves.

Set your Transfer Return Rings to an appropiate number of rings, to give your tech support folks enough time to answer before it returns for voice mail coverage.

Finally, make a mailbox 72 to catch the returning calls.

Now, since it is an R1, the calls will end up in mailbox 72, and you won't be able to auto-copy them to another mailbox, or use phantom mailbox to get them somewhere that will light up a message waiting light, although you could use outcalling to light up a light and manually turn it off.
