I have found that double clicking a file to open it in Acrobat 5 is very slow. It seems to be that it checks all the files in the recently used list; if one of those files no longer exists, it slows down the opening considerably - sometimes not even opening the file I want at all. I want to be able to clear the list - but I can't find a way to do it.

Good question! I looked and didn't find a way. You didn't mention which platform, but I'm on Windows. I didn't find the list in the Registry, or in any of the various "Application" and "Local Setting" folders.
