i need to copy a string on the mainframe application

then add a default prefix and suffix from time to time

1. copy the string on this coordinates and store it on this variable X
2. variable X is now on the copy memory
3. if i will call a paste function on other application it will only paste what i copied from Mainframe

can i edit or tweak the value of x?

currently, im putting the value on an unused coordinates with the default prefix and suffix
then select the area (using myarea.select) so that it will be on the copy memory or clipboard then add a send key to delete the previously used portion.

but is there a way or function that I can use for this action?

thanks

Hi,

You need to assign a string to a variable from you terminal emulator.

The add a prefix based on som logic.

You're not copying anything. Your string value is stored in your variable.

Use the GetString() method in you emulator to assign to x.

thanks, i get your point in setting the prefix and suffix
ill try it once i get back on the office on Monday

ill try to look for other ways to set the desired variable available when
doing a paste function on other applications
