Can I set Access up to mail new records without using a mail client?

I am working on a database that will gather requests from different agents across the country, and would like the DB to mail me when a new record is entered.

I have used a dos program for this. It is called BLAT (

and has proved 100% reliable.

There are also other email programs that you can use to avoid using your email client.

how do you do this part of his question? i can only set up access to email reports and whatnot..

The DB will be hosted on a remote server, so I will not be able to install utilities or software, such as the
DOS application you are referring to.
