We are configuring HACMP for a pair of v5.2 systems, and we need to be able to run a .profile for a user account that is different based on which environment the user is connecting to.
I can learn what physical machine I am on by using hostname. I have a script that will tell me if the node I am on is serving as one or the other (or both) service name. What I haven't been able to figure out is which host the user intended to login to when he executed his login. I have looked in utmp (not there), who (not there).
I have to believe the information is available; I just can't figure out where it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.
