I am curious whether I can run Send Mail, or some other email software on the same box I am running Exchange? I am running a classified ads cgi script and the email functionality is not working properly. I posted two posts re: the "to" fields not being propogated on outgoing mail (although the emails appear to reach their destinations). The software provider is suggesting I install sendmail (or another option) and then configure the software to use that, rather than SMTP. Exchange seems to be working for everything else I am doing, but I don't know what configuration settings I should be looking at in Exchange to troubleshoot the current situation.
Should I be looking at the SMTP site in Internet Information Server (it doesn't seem to want to start up)? I am lost at this point. Help!!
