Can I run CC6 and SCCS 5 at the same time?

I'm in the process of install 6.0 and I was wondering if a can run both CC 6 and SCCS 5 at the same time. Not using the same queues or agents. Just so I can nmigrate groups over one at a time. If there are issues what are they? Thanks for the help.

With SCCS 5, Nortel added the capability to hard partition the switch and run up to three SCCS applications on the same switch. So, I would imagine it is possible. You will have to look into the switch software and packages required. As SCCS 5 is essentially a dead product, you cannot order anything new for it, so if keycodes need to be updated, you would be out of luck.

It seems to be a lot of work to set up and manage. Plus your reports would be split over two servers. I would either re-key the new server (with web client you can download the current configuration and upload it to the new server) and flash cut, or migrate. Either method is proven and should be less work than what you are proposing.

Yes, I have done it myself. Be careful when deacquiring/acquiring CDNs and phonesets, though.. If you try to acquire something in one server that is already acquired in the other, you may have problems. We ended up locking up the SCCS 5 a few times, and ini'd the PBX once or twice. But if you are careful, it does work.

And, as Milesprower noted, you will have historical stats in two different places.
