I have a website that is on IE and it has a table and some labels in html.

Is there a way that vfp can capture the data that are located on that web form and dump them in memory/file/memo etc..?

there are about 3 or 4 fields that i need to capture from vfp.

Hello Mike, thanks for your reply.

I have looked previously at your FAQ however, the web page is a page that is resulted from a search and i don't know the URL as it is in a window popup and it is in an https URL.

The page has result on it. First, there is a log in, which i have the username/password, then, there is a link that brings me to the search form (Java button on it), after putting the inquiry and pushing submit button, the website pops up a page with results on it. I want to know if VFP after the IE form pops up, scans the form somehow and capture the data.

All the pages have JSP extension.

If you automate IE, and make it visible, and from there (in IE) navigate to the page, VFP still has access to the document.
Maybe I'm not understanding the problem.

The problem is twofold.
First get the information in a format VFP can handle.
If seems that complete IE automation from VFP is not an option because of the way the search is conducted. It this case why not save the page using FILE ->SAVE AS and put it on your disk.

Secondly, write a parser that will extract the data you need. Bear in mind that this parser will probably be specific to the format used by your search engine to present data. If that format changes, you will have to tweak your parser. Direct the parsed data to a container of your choice.

Add a UI with a button linked to a getfile() command. Use it to open the file you created in the first step and voilà.

Hope this is helpfull.

If you don't want to require your application's users to have Internet Explorer, try this method: faq184-3019
