I'm running out of space in one of my disk pools. The space is in a logical partition on an MSA-1500 SAN. Can I safely enlarge the partition? Will Novell see the new partition size? Then can I expand the volumes to fill the new size? Or should I just create another logical drive and expand the pool using the other logical drive?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks in advance..

if you expamd the san
and then nssu the pool that's it -
the volumes will follow the pool

You have to allocate the space on the SAN, then assign it to the specific server -- you do that in your san management utilities. Once the SAN has provisioned this, NetWare should see the new space. Then you can use NSSMU on the NetWare server and expand the pool into the new space. That's all you need to do and it should happen on the fly. The space should be available immediately.
