Can I remotely answer call to an extension.

I want to call an extension from my desk and use a feature or the CLI to activate the speaker phone to answer it. Or can I change a CLS to do this. I used to do this on my old switch to verify a phones functionality, bust people who were not answering my call or listen to the switch room for alarms or odd noises through it's speakerphone.

If anyone works on Avaya and wants to try this it's "list trace station {ext}/7" from the cli, which simply presses the button on the first line appearance.

Maybe I could phrase this differently, is there any command line method for remotely pressing or simulating the press of a button on a DN.

No, but you can set the phone to auto answer - change CLS AAA and HFA and the prompt aut set to yes if someone changed it to no...(yes is the default)
