Can I put a URL with a querystring on the end in a SSI?

Hi folks,

I wonder if someone would be kind enough to enlighten me on something that's been puzzling me! :)

I'm trying to add a poll onto a specific webpage, but the software I used to create the poll generates another page for the poll with a querystring in the URL, and I'd like to include the generated poll page within the page I've already created. Is this possible?

e.g. <!--#include file ="polls/poll.asp?ID=7009"-->

I'd be grateful for any advice!

Cheers,

Luke

No, but you could use server side AJAX to request the html of another page.

Here is a good start:

IIRC, there is an issue with the serverxmlhttp object not allowing you to relay to a file in the same folder as the calling page to keep from having an endless loop, so the calling page should not be in the same "polls" folder as your "polls.asp" file.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your reply, and for the link! I'll take a look.

Cheers,

Luke
