I am using a group selection formula to control what groups appear in my report. Everything works fine, but the group still appear in the tree. This is very confusing to the user who expects to see somthing in the report area to the right of the screen when he/she clicks on the group.

Why do these groups appear in the group tree, when they are correctly filtered from the report because of the group selection formula?

Can they be prevented from appearing in the group tree?

Thanks in advance,

Jay

This is a bug in Crystal, I have noticed this several times. I know of no way to fix this. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Thank you>

Anyone know about any work arounds?

There aren't any - save for hiding the group tree. I don't know if this has been addressed in 9, but if anyone has checked 9 out and knows any different, it'd be nice to hear about it.

You can hide the group tree, no problem, just un-click "create group tree" under report options.

The bug that dmc12 brought up about excluded groups' names still showing in the group tree is one that has driven me crazy over the years.

Does anyone have CR9 yet? And if so can you test this? Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
