Is there any way to allow a drop-down form field to accept keying something in the field that isn't a predefined choice? I don't know VBA well, although I can wing it with help.

Question: What is the point of having a dropdown formfield if you're going to allow entry of other items?

I don't do VBA much either. However, have you thought about having an "OTHER" option that "on exit" of that formfield runs a macro that takes them to a bookmarked formfield for a description?

Well, in this case there are 5 or 6 options that are used on a regular basis, but there will always be exceptions to the options as well. As a convenience to the users, I would have liked to allow them to choose from one of the options when they needed it. I will explore your other suggestion, however. Thank you.
