In Windows 2000, are you still able to open capture files generated from MS Network Monitor? I have tried saving the files as .cap and .enc files. It doesn't appear to help. This appears to be on any Windows 2000 machine. Anyone have a solution to this for utility to convert these files? This problem didnt' exist in NT 4.0. Thanks.

There's a useful piece of software called "Pro Convert" made by WildPackets, which can convert many types of trace files. These include Ether/Token Peek, Domino, Net Monitor, Observer, Shomiti, Sniffer, Snoop, tcpdump etc. Alternatively there is a free and less sophisticated product called Ethereal, which can do most things.
