I would like to know if I can somehow manually link a table?

I have a database with 14 linked tables and 3 native tables. The 14 linked tables work great right now, but if I try to link any more tables from the same remote database, or if I delete a table and try to re-link it, I get a fatal error "MSACCESS.exe has generated errors....". I can even use the linked table manager and relink all existing tables with a new DSN without a problem. So the only problem I get is when I create a completely new link.

I am using Access 97 and I have removed it (including registry) and reinstalled with no luck.

The methods I have tried are:
1) linked table manager,
2) File-->Get External Data-->Link Tables, and
3) From the table view of database: New-->Link Table

Hi,

Try doing a compact and repair on the remote database.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. The remote database is Informix. I have compacted and repaired my local database though. I am getting a new error though when I run my queryies with VBA. "Couldn't find installable ISAM". It is a run-time error #3170.

The line that it errors out on is:

DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acExport, 8, "allmid_TD_LOAD_REPORT_ITO", xlWbkName, True

Any other suggestions.

This problem has been solved. Apparently the DSN that I was using somehow became corrupted. I made a new DSN and linking works again.
