I'm programming (or trying too) a text-based RPG, and i was wondering if it was possible to create a stationary object on the screen (like so it wouldn't move even when the text is scrolling down the screen). I was wondering this because I want to be able to have the characters health, gold, level and experience displayed at all times.. i was just wondering if this was possible in the C programming language... thanks to anyone who can help!

On what platform? Perfection in engineering does not happen when there is nothing more to add. Rather it happens when there is nothing more to take away.

I'm using Microsoft C++ (but i'm programming in C). Its using DOS though.

I've never done that sort of thing on Win32 -- but in the *nix world, this kind of thing can be accomplished using the curses (or ncurses) libraries.

There may be a Win32 port of curses or ncurses out there.
