Hi,

I am using Crystal XI. I am trying to get a report to generate for a certain time period that will tell how many parts from one product group of all (I have filtered all other groups out except for the one that needs to be seen). But the now I need to divide the parts into 3 different groups (the part numbers are very descriptive), so, they want to see the division between all 3" ID, 4" ID and 5" ID part numbers. Since we don't have a group for each size, only by the product code is there anything I can do to achieve what they want to see?

Basically, I have filtered all the product groups {invdtl.prodcode} out of the report except for the group that they want to look at and now I want to divide all the parts in this group {invdtl.partnum} into 3 different groups. So an example of a part number would be "A03.00SS08-xxx", there are a few different prefixes that can happen, but I think you get the idea? Am I making this too difficult? Or am I not explaining well?

Appreciate any help!

Hi,
What part of

A03.00SS08-xxx

is descriptive and reveals the 3", 4" and 5" ID part numbers.

Hi,

The descriptive part of the part number is the 3 in the "A03.00SS08-xxx".

Does that help?
