Using the Windows 8 Upgrade $40 deal, will I be able to install Windows8 as a clean install on a seperate empty partition and dual boot it with the existing XP Home/SP3 on my PC? (Assuming the PC has the basic requirements and I have a valid KEY) I seem to find different advice on different forums. Tek-Tips Forum I trust!

I guess it is early days for any definite answer, the thing to do is to contact Microsoft and ask them. This is what is available on the Internet.

One known (minor) bug with dual booting XP with Vista or Windows 7 or 8, is the loss of System Restore points in the other operating systems after every XP boot.

Thanks linney.
I have just, at your suggestion, asked my quetion on the Microsoft Windows XP Forum and been told my plan would not be legal and might well run into problems.
