Due to problems with our fire wall and VPN issues some of the sites on our VPN can't download the ACTIVEX Viewer from my server. Is there an install disk for the viewer or can i manually install the files it needs to operate ????? or can they download it from Crystal descions web site ????????

i use CRW 8.5
with internet explorer 5.0+

In CR9 developer you get an installation file npviewer.exe which installs the activeX viewer.

If you haven't got this let me know and i'll email it to you Gary Parker

is the viewer backwards compatable, by that i mean we will be able to run CRW 7 and 8.5 reports on it (i sure it must be).

If it is then if you could email it i nwould be most appreciative.

THANKYOU FOR MANY HAIR PULL OUT HOURS TRING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE SATALITE PROXY SERVER IS DOING !

well i tried in one location but if failed to work and i tried it one and it did ???.

It seams to fail to recoginse the installed viewer and instead continues to download the viewer from the server i tried to install several times wondering if it was a registery issue..... was it a Winxp specific patch ?

I am out on monday am to try again at one of our other sites and will let you know how it goes.

Do or any one esle have the any crytsal report on a public website that i could download the viewer from ????

Do you still need assistance?

The file you are looking for is called ActiveXViewer.cab.

Open it with WinZip and find the file called "crviewer.inf", right click and select install.

That should do it...

thankyou MrWilly & GJParker, thankyou very much.

between the two of you it works.

If you install the .inf file you seem to write to the registry and then install activex npviewer it works. (If you don't do the .inf file it still downloads.)

i will write a FAQ based on my experiance

THANKYOU BOTH OF YOU
