Can I install a printer on a Trial Knoppix Disk?

I bought the book "Moving to LINUX by M. Gagné" to which a knoppix CD Trial was included.
I like the Knoppix edition very much, especially with the KDE.
I am able to go to "Open Office 1.0" , create a letter and save it.
BUT, I am not able to print the letter with the Generic Printer (Driver: SGENPRT) which is the only printer loaded in the system (CD-Disk, it must be RAM).
IS IT POSSIBLE to install a second printer, like HP Deskjet 890C, but I could not find a way to do it.

Your help will be very much appreciated.

As far as I re-call, Knoppix uses CUPS so you should be able to navigate to

http://localhost:631

using your browser and add a printer.

Thank you for your answer. Very much appreciated.
I tried to connect to

http://localhost:631

and I get an error message, like this:
"An error occured while loading

http://localhost:633,

could not
connect to host localhost (port 631)"

In the mean time, I tried something else:
- Control Center> Peripgerals> Printers
- Unable to retrieve the printer list.
Error message received from manager.
- Connection to CUPS server failed.
Check that the CUPS server is correctly installed and
running.
Error: connection refused.
(CUPS: Common UNIX Print System).

My question: How can I install the CUPS server?
Does it not work, because LINUX is not physically installed on my computer? ; I'm just running LINUX-KNOPPIX from a CD Disk.

I'd recommend downloading the newest version of Knoppix from www.knoppix.org. At least check your version and make sure it is up-to-date. Sometimes the ones on books are too old and every release of Knoppix seems to add a lot of functionality and improvements.

Looks like the CUPS daemon is not running...
