Can I import bookmarks from another pdf?

I don't believe bookmarks can be imported. They are specific links inside each Acrobat PDF file. At least, that has been my experience in my office. If someone else contradicts me, I will be very excited to learn how they do it so I can do it that way too! Building links is a chore and a particularly bad one after you've built a big document and found out that is has to be redone.
