Can I ignore teh tracking cookies? 1

Hi,

Always get a few tracking cookies, I think I know the site where they come from. Can I ignore them or how to stop them?

you should delete them. If you use IE, go to view in IE when you are in the suspect sites and then choose privacy report, and highlight the offending cookie and then click summary and tick the option to never allow the site to use cookies.

"Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete
Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the "Delete Cookies" button to clear
the cookies.


For Mozilla

To block cookies in mozilla and stop them from coming back click on
tools/ options/privacy/click view cookies, now you will now see a
list of cookies, click on all the cookies to delete that you don't want

Hi,

I have just done what you suggested to never allow

to use cookies. After close and reopen the IE and open some site, I checked the privacy report again: two items for

,one is blocked but the other is accepted! I then highlighed the accepted item and went to Summary but found it said "never allow this site to use cookies".
What I can do now?

About doing a 'delete all cookies'
If you use a website that logs you in automatically (Like Tek Tips), this probably wont work after deleting all cookies.
Most sites will reinstall their 'log on' cookies but some might have problems.

Some spyware checkers e.g. Ewido & Adaware, will find and remove the 'trackers'.
MSAntispyware & (Oddly) SpybotSD wont.

I would suggest that you all use Mozilla's Firefox and then you can delete the cookies you don't want to keep.

Welldefined: If you check the second one and it says that it is already blocked then you are ok. Some sites will ahve many adds not cookies so you cna highlight them all and then click summary and choose never to allow cookies.

Also download these tools as they will block many of these sites, especially, the hosts file, IE spyad and spybot's hosts file!

Use spybot's immunize button and use spywareblaster' enable
protection once you update it. you can put spybot's hosts file into
your own and lock it.



I would also suggest switching to Mozilla's firefox browser, it's safer, has
a built in pop up blocker, blocks cookies and adds. Mozilla Thunderbird is also a good
e-mail client.
