I have the fastest internet speed available from my countries best provider...regularly getting test speeds of 34mbps.

Trouble is they offer a maximum plan of 60gb per month. Any usage after that is charged per mb and could bankrupt a small nation in days.

SO, can I have a second provider installed?

I only want the second line to upload and download - the second connection will be slow speed but unlimited.

Can I direct a program to a second line?(99% of the time will be browser, i would use IE for second line). Would this be done via port settings? Remember, i only want one or two programs on my PC directed to the second connection.

At the moment my cable modem is connected via USB, i have Ethernet still available (and PCI slots if I need another network card).

Can anyone help? Is it possible? Is the above the way to do it? :) Thanks!

Can I ask?

You state you want a slow, unlimited connection. What are you downloading on your fast connection that will exceed the download limits? If you are a heavy downloader, I'm sure you may not like the download cap, but it is better performance. If it isn't for shere file/p2p/torrenting that you are using your computer for, there is really no need to have such a fast speed for internet browsing.

And a short answer, you cant have seperate ISPs or seperate broadband accounts on ADSL or CABLE on a single phone line. You would need to invest in a seperate phoneline if you wanted another connection. The only way you could do it on a single phoneline would be to use a standard 56k modem and connect over the telephone line, this would A) be VERY slow, b)Unlimited connection dial up is more expensive than broadband c)completely tie up the phone line, and not be able to make or recieve calls whilst connected.

Please can you explain your logic and reasonings behind your internet use and maybe I can better find you a solution.
